Me
- My Name is Jodie Simms, I am an 18 year old Photographer from the NorthWest of England I like driving under trees when its sunny and the light that sneaks through, red lipstick, french choir boys, beautiful dresses, situations and people. I pull a face when i look in the mirror. Oh and refuse to eat orange skittles. There are so many wonderful things in the world, and i want to discover them all! My work is a accumulation of memories (most of which aren’t my own) and a study of what it means to be a western teenager. The unknown that surrounds our very being has always been something that has fascinated me greatly we seem to inhabit a strange hinterland in which we are no longer children but fail to make the cut as an adult, in supermarkets when people call me a “lady” or “madam” it doesn’t feel quite right yet neither does the word “girl” therefore I use the past and the experiences of others in my work hoping that it will show me the way.
